About Us
We are Mat & Kole, co-founders of BarCountry, bartenders and outdoor enthusiasts. We created our Pocket Cocktails simply because we needed them and we thought you did too! After going on a few camping trips in the backcountry, we started realizing that our options to enjoy a drink in the outdoors were quite limited. It’s incredibly heavy and bulky to bring beer, wine or all the mixers so what does that leave you with? Sipping warm liquor out of your flask or mixing a drink with some sort of crystal light powder – definitely not very enjoyable. There wasn’t a clear solution for us and that’s why we created BarCountry.

I was excited to try this product. It was tough to decide which flavor to first try, but I went with the traditional margarita taste. The box came with four individual sized packets. The directions are very simple, placed one packet of the powder, add water (fill the packet 4 times), and add 1.5 fl oz tequila. I mixed mine in a shaker with ice to make it nice and cold. It provided a good amount of margarita, and I split it with my wife. Ill be honest, it was delicious. These not only would be perfect for camping, hiking, traveling, etc, but are also good to have around the house for a quick and easy cocktail. It was not too salty or sour, but just perfect. I definitely recommend these for those looking for an easy drink, or the adventurous outdoors folk.

Most of the time I like to drink my bourbon neat or on the rocks, but an Old Fashioned is a nice change sometimes. These drink packets are sturdy and small enough to pack in a mess kit for camping. The packets have convenient measurement lines on them for adding the right amount of water to the mix - no need to eyeball the measurement. Quick and easy! It is just a little bit sweet and it has the bitters and cherry flavors you expect from an Old Fashioned.
My only complaint was that it took a LOT of shaking to get the powder to dissolve completely, but that's a very minor issue, overall.
